Where did all the Prophets go?

Its been too long since we've had a prophet, someone willing to stand up and lead our culture into another direction.  If you ask me or anyone marching on wall street they would agree, we need a prophet for these crazy times.  Our capitalist dream has been smothered by the few that are capitalizing at excessive rates and leaving the rest in the dust.  Meanwhile our military as well as military groups like NATO keep the playing field and rules in check for their advantage while the rest of us our slaves to the 8 hour day and to our reality TV shows.  Our culture has bottomed out and its substance is leaking out while the shit keeps adding on.  No but seriously we've created a society that is obsessed the individual, the individuals gains, the individual's ego comes before everything else.  And yet as individuals we stand alone in super markets like sheep waiting to eat, and we complain and say "well shit that president didn't really do what he said he was going to do, better luck next year".  We take nothing into our own hands.  Those people on wall street, I don't care how disorganized, have a better outlook on life because they are thinking about our people's and our planets future.  The world needs another prophet, a revolutionary leader, to remind people of why they are really here.  Jihiliyaa spirit is the poisonous venom  spewing from our leaders mouths and their tribe is the white male, their vehicle the dollar bill.  Where is the 2012 prophet when you need one?

  2. I was wondering the same thing the other day!...I feel like prophets are nothing but a part of the past. As Muhammad said, Islam is not meant for everyone, each man has his own religion. Each religion, intentional or not, was created by a prophet or a savior, and assisted the people with whatever they needed. Jesus helped the people accept members of their community and taught them to stick up for themselves. Buddha and Sri Krishna help others to see that we are all one in the same, and to always be calm and seek a higher state of being.
And here we are now, with so many problems and not so many solutions. I think the problem is that while a lot of problems are being talked about, there is less listening and helping each other. It's so easy to complain, but quite another to be selfless and do something about it. The Occupy movement is a great example of trying to change things. The people congregate and share their ideas, and listen to one another. It drew attention, and as a result there was a huge interest for a while.
I'm not sure where the prophets are, but I think it would be just as helpful if we shared our enlightened ideas with one another. We all have ideas, but they're no good in a room full of noise where no one is listening.

  3. Your prophet is not going to be found on Wall Street, they have their own god: Money. Perhaps we have had too many prophets. What we may need now is each person to begin helping others - not with money - but with care. And as Jess says, maybe what is really needed now is talking – not just saying words but communication one person with another, one person at a time.
